Low salt liquid starter fertilizers & dry starter fertilizers reduce the amount of salt entering your soil eco-system. Starter fertilizer plays an important role in the development and emergence of seedlings. Without sufficient nutrient in the root zone, potential crop yield can be reduced. Yet not all starter liquid fertilizer is created equally.

Avonlea offers SYNERGY LS, a low salt liquid starter farm fertilizer that contains 6% nitrogen, 24% phosphate, and 1% sulphur. The phosphate analysis is 80% Ortho phosphate. Ortho phosphate is immediately available to the plant regardless of soil temperature. Also present is a 20% concentration of Poly phosphate. This form of phosphate is not plant available until the soil warms up and converts the poly phosphate to ortho phosphate. Many high salt starters have a low percentage of Ortho phosphate, which is not ideal for cool Western Canada soils in spring.
 

Avonlea offers a low salt dry starter that provides a complete macro & micro nutrient package to get your crop off to a great start. N, P, K, S, Ca, Mg, Zn ,Fe, Mn, B, and Cu are in each granule. ELEVEN SUPERSTART is seed row safe even in salt sensitive crops like canola, oats, and soybeans. There is no problem with seedling mortality and slower crop emergence associated with MAP. ELEVEN SUPERSTART is the dry starter farm fertilizer "Superstar" in high pH soils. Phosphate is present in Single and Triple Superphosphate. Both of these forms of phosphate remain completely plant available and do not get tied up by high pH soils. Plant phosphate availability in MAP can be reduced by as much as 80% in the year it is applied.
