The temperature inside your grain bin is something you’ll want to pay close attention to. Both too-hot and too-cold conditions inside a grain bin can create unfavourable conditions that can damage the grain and even ruin the product entirely. The use of temperature monitoring systems for your Meridian hopper grain bins can take the stress out of grain storage. When looking for grain bin temperature cables or a grain bin temperature monitoring system, you can depend on the experts at Avonlea Farm Sales Ltd.

CABLE FITTING DIAGRAMS:
Need help figuring out which cable you need? See diagrams below.
HOW TO FIT YOUR HOPPER BIN WITH A CABLE:
TO FIND INTERCONNECT LENGTH (outside cable): Measure from the middle of your bin, to the edge (radius). Measure the full height of your bin. Add those 2 numbers together. This is your interconnect outside cable length. REFER TO GREEN ARROWS
TO FIND MOISTURE / TEMP CABLE LENGTH: Measure from the centre of the roof of your bin down to where your aeration starts. If you have a rocket, you may attach the cable inside the rocket. If you have horizontal aeration, you may tie the cable around it. REFER TO PINK ARROW.
THIS BIN REQUIRES A 5 SENSOR (20ft) CABLE WITH A 40FT INTERCONNECT OUTSIDE CABLE.
HOW T O FIT YOUR FLAT BOTTOM BIN WITH A CABLE:
TO FIND INTERCONNECT LENGTH (outside cable): Measure from the middle of your bin, to the edge (radius). Measure the full height of your bin. Add those 2 numbers together. This is your interconnect outside cable length. REFER TO GREEN ARROWS.
TO FIND MOISTURE / TEMP CABLE LENGTH: Measure from the centre of the roof of your bin down to the floor. If you have an unload system, deduct another foot or two. REFER TO PINK ARROW.
THIS BIN REQUIRES A 3 SENSOR CABLE WITH A 20FT INTERCONNECT OUTSIDE CABLE.

This cable attaches to the inside sensing cable at the top of the bin. Interconnect cables extend the length of the bin along the outside to allow cable reading from the ground.
This cable is 55 feet long.
The Docking Station protects the sensing cable from static electricity damage when not plugged in to a monitor. It is installed on to the grain bin and plugs in to the bottom of the interconnect cable.
