Summers: Supercoulter Samurai Tillage Equipment for Sale in Manitoba

The Supercoulter Samurai, inspired by farmers' needs, is a versatile tillage tool that offers the benefits of vertical tillage with enhanced soil movement. Designed with slightly angled Samurai blades, it provides a balance between true vertical tillage and conventional methods, making it an ideal choice for managing residue, light tillage, and seedbed preparation. This tool is particularly effective for both spring and fall applications, ensuring the right amount of soil movement and conditioning without the intensity of high-speed disks or conventional tillage.

The Supercoulter Samurai features an innovative design with front and rear gang blades set at optimal angles to achieve the desired field finish for most farming needs. The blades, spaced 10 inches apart and offset between the gangs, ensure superior residue flow and thorough soil tilth. The Samurai blades, exclusive to Summers and patented by Osmundson Mfg. Co., are slightly concave with a sawtooth design, making them highly effective in various soil conditions. They are also heat-treated for extended durability, performing well in both wet and dry conditions.

Additionally, the Supercoulter Samurai is equipped with features like a hydraulic hitch for weight transfer, allowing operators to optimize performance in different field conditions, and Super-Flex™ C-Shanks to absorb shocks from rocks and stumps. Optional finishing attachments, such as harrows and hydraulic rolling baskets, further enhance its ability to produce a uniform soil profile, making it a comprehensive solution for modern farming needs.

SUMMERS SAMURAI SUPER-COULTER

The NEXT GENERATION of VERTICAL TILLAGE

Light Tillage Performance with Improved Soil Disturbance

Supercoulter Samurai Features 360 033021 1 Light Tillage Performance

The front gang blades are positioned at a 3-degree angle, and the rear gang blades are positioned at a 5-degree angle. Thorough testing has shown this to be an optimum configuration to achieve the ideal field finish for most farmers. However, the gang angles can be manually adjusted in the shop from 1 to 5 degrees, if desired, to accommodate more unique soil types, conditions and personal preferences.

Blades are spaced 10 inches apart on each gang with the front and rear gangs offset for an effective 5-inch blade spacing. This design results in superior residue flow, yet maximum tillage coverage for thorough soil tilth and excellent residue sizing.

Samurai Blades

Supercoulter Samurai Features 360 033021 1 Samurai Blades

The Summers exclusive Osmundson Mfg. Co. patented Samurai disk blades on the Supercoulter Samurai offer the latest in blade technology. They are slightly concave with a sawtooth design that excels at sizing residue and moving soil. The blades perform well in both wet soils and hard, dry conditions, and they are heat treated for extended life.

Light Footprint

Supercoulter Samurai Features 082520 Light Footprint 1

Similar to our popular Supercoulter, the simplistic design of the Supercoulter Samurai has a light enough footprint to help producers get in the field earlier than bulkier tillage tools allow. This advantage allows farmers to complete spring fieldwork quicker, so they can plant sooner.

Hydraulic Hitch

Supercoulter Samurai Features 360 033021 1 Hydraulic Hitch

The patented hydraulic hitch allows operators to easily optimize in-field performance by transferring weight between the front and rear gangs. More weight can be shifted to the front to help the Supercoulter Samurai slice through tough residue and hard, dry ground. Shifting weight to the rear results in more aggressive soil movement and better residue incorporation. The hydraulic hitch can also be operated in float position, which works well for seedbed preparation and operation in rocky conditions.

Super-Flex™ C-Shanks

Supercoulter Samurai Features 360 033021 1 Super Flex C Shanks

The unique Super-Flex™ gang mounting system is designed to absorb shocks from rocks and stumps, providing protection from blade damage. The toggle-mounted, 7-Lip sealed ball bearings are also designed to self-align as the gang flexes.

Accurate Depth Control

Supercoulter Samurai Features 360 033021 1 Accurate Depth Control

The Supercoulter Samurai offers 0 to 5.5 inches of tillage depth. Dual axles help the implement maintain an accurate depth along all field contours. Also, the standard high-floatation tires and heavy-duty hubs are ideal for use in a variety of soil conditions.

Harrow and Hydraulic Rolling Basket

Supercoulter Samurai Features 360 033021 1 Harrow And Hydraulic Rolling Basket

This recommended finishing attachment is an ideal combination for distributing residue, breaking up clumps and producing a uniform soil profile. The rolling baskets feature Summers’ patented internal mud scrapers to prevent mud build-up. The hydraulic basket control allows you to easily vary the amount of pressure on the baskets or raise them for certain conditions.

What makes the Supercoulter Samurai different from traditional tillage tools?

The Supercoulter Samurai stands out due to its unique design, which combines the benefits of vertical tillage with increased soil movement. Unlike traditional tillage tools, which may be either too aggressive or not aggressive enough, the Supercoulter Samurai offers a balanced approach. Its slightly angled Samurai blades allow for more soil movement than true vertical tillage but are less intensive than conventional tillage or high-speed disks. This makes it an ideal tool for residue management, light tillage, and seedbed preparation, providing a field finish that meets the needs of many modern producers.

How can I adjust the Supercoulter Samurai to suit different soil conditions?

The Supercoulter Samurai is designed with flexibility in mind, allowing you to adjust its performance to suit various soil conditions. The gang blades are set at a standard angle (3 degrees for the front and 5 degrees for the rear), but you can manually adjust these angles from 1 to 5 degrees to better match your soil type or personal preference. Additionally, the patented hydraulic hitch allows you to transfer weight between the front and rear gangs, optimizing performance for tough residue, hard ground, or seedbed preparation. This adaptability ensures that the Supercoulter Samurai can handle a wide range of field conditions effectively.

What optional attachments are available for the Supercoulter Samurai, and how do they enhance its performance?

The Supercoulter Samurai offers several optional attachments to enhance its performance, particularly for residue management and soil finishing. The recommended finishing attachment includes a harrow and hydraulic rolling basket, which are designed to distribute residue evenly, break up clumps, and create a uniform soil profile. The rolling baskets feature internal mud scrapers to prevent buildup and can be adjusted for varying pressure or raised as needed. Additionally, you can choose between 3- and 4-bar harrows, which can be set for deep or shallow penetration, ensuring flexibility and effectiveness in different field conditions. These attachments make the Supercoulter Samurai a comprehensive tool for achieving optimal field preparation.
